Do they have sandwiches other than burgers??
I decided to try the Jager Schnitzel, because I wanted to try German food. I should've stuck with the BLT that I wanted at first. The potato pancake was dry and salty, the gravy on the schnitzel was salty also. The sauerkraut was decent. My husband's French dip was dry and tasted like packaged meat. The clam chowder, although canned, was decent. The waiter was good though and made sure our glasses were full. Price range: lunch(sandwiches) $11; dinners: $21-$25. Although this place was recommended by a local at the zoo we visited, I was disappointed.
MoreLocation - Prime location in Big bear lake next to all the shops and restaurants on the main street.Parking - Plenty of parking in the back.Service - Very nice and helpful staff.Food - Food was good but my omelet could of used more flavor. Prices - In my opinion it was a bit over priced for breakfast items averaging about $16 and typical burgers and sandwiches around the same price. Drinks - Ordered a michelada and it was good but a bit on the higher priceds also. Venue - Was a bit dated but kept clean.Wouldn't come back on my next visit as I would check out the others restaurants nearby.
MoreMy wife and I stopped in for breakfast/brunch during the weekend and were seated quickly. The staff is very friendly and helpful with any menu questions. My spouse had their waffle and I had one of their signature omelettes. The food was good and we really enjoyed the waitress continuously checking on us for coffee and hot tea refills. Overall, good experience at the Old Country Inn.
MoreGreat food and personable service.
It was ok. We went for breakfast because my husband wanted biscuits and gravy and sausage. He liked his, but my bacon and eggs were just ok. My homestyle potatoes were way over cooked and you only get one slice of toast. For the price of everything, it just wasn't worth it. The waitress was very sweet, and so I gave an extra star for her.
MoreWe visited Old Country in a Tuesday afternoon. Maria and her staff were so friendly and warm.I'm top of that, food was excellent. My toddler got a tasty spaghetti 🍝 that was especially made. We'll definitely add Old Country to our list of places to re-visit next time we're around Big Bear
MoreWe had the monte cristo sandwich 🥪. It wasn’t like Disneyland’s, but it was still good. Great Service and it was a nice quiet place to eat, outside on the patio with a nice breeze on a hot day in Big Bear. Wasn’t crowded considering it’s very packed up here this weekend.
MoreOne of my go-to spots to eat. fantastic location, always clean, and fantastic customer service. Very good job!
MoreDisappointing. The German food items on lunch menu were too expensive. $$$ So we had an overpriced sandwich. Looks like a fun place for breakfast. Dinner may be good but overpriced also $$$
MoreThe food was excellent with great service.
One of the best places to eat in Big Bear Lake. Incredible food with a German Accent. Homemade sauerkraut is a revelation. The Lumberjack breakfast is legendary, and the Weinerschniztel truly savory and filling. Mmmm mmm!
MoreJason the server was awesome, good food too. Not inexpensive though...
Food consistently cold! Service mediocre at best. Much better places to dine in Big Bear.
MoreService and food were great. Lunch doesnt start until 12:30. Not bad just a little later than most places. Didn't seem like small meal requests made it into the dish(no mushrooms, remembering toast)... beyond these small things, definitely a place I'll go again.
MoreFood is simply amazing! The steak was absolutely great. Better than a franchise steakhouse. Lots of food! Price was perfect. Music mood kept us entertained (60's,70's,80's) I will come back every trip! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!!!! A++++++++ :)
MoreNice breakfast restaurant. Nice place, cool decoration. The service was great. The food was good but not special. Extra points for the vegan options.
MoreGreat food, service, and selection for any diet your on.
This restaurant has a cozy inviting feel as you enter. The high ceilings give you a comforting embrace as you are about to enjoy a delightful experience. The staff are very nice and go out if there way to ma kn e you feel at home. As your eyes wander to see the bear on the wall intriguing aromas emanate from the kitchen. The salads are amazing and the food a treat. This is a great dining rendezvous. You can also try a more Latin experience if you like as the have a restaurant next door as well.
MorePerfect hubcap pancakes, sausage and 4 perfect eggs over medium! Bacon thick and crispy too. Try the homemade sauerkraut
MoreThe Reuben was amazing! Bread was light and sandwich was high quality. Bloody Mary was delicious and large! Highly recommend.
MoreDisappointing, been coming up for 30 plus years. Haven't been in a while, service was slow and now dealing with stomach issues.
MoreAlways fabulous!!! Food is wonderful. Definitely recommend the Ginger scallops!! Staff very friendly! And the drinks are great too! Fantastic Bloody Mary's and margaritas!!
MoreBad. Quality has really gone down hill. Fish was greasy. Cold. Service was poor. Server really didnt care.
MoreOur waiter was the best and the food was good 👍
Great place staff is awesome food is really good
Food was good and our waiter was very friendly.
We stopped here because we wanted to try something new. We sat outside in a covered patio since the weather was nice. I was a little worried that we would be forgotten since we were the only ones on the patio, but we had great service! The waitress was helpful. Between my husband and myself we ordered a roast beef au jus sandwich and a steak with mashed potatoes. The next time we go, we need to save room for dessert!
MoreGood eats! Great portions, yummy food! We had the baby back ribs and it was good. The French Dip sandwich is huge and great! By all means, get the potato skins appetizer! Highly recommended!
MoreCool cozy place that did NOT have a 2 hour wait just to eat breakfast! Very nice atmosphere, my kids ordered off the kids menu & the plate size's where perfect for a child's appetite. I ordered a skillet which I & my children picked at, very good. Not skimpy on the juice glasses either. The staff is busy, but like I said,... it's not a 2 hour wait to sit down like other local breakfast spots on a weekend!!
MoreGreat service and "healthy" portions for your money. You will leave satisfied and the quality is great. And I still cant say enough about the service. Our waitress was at the top of her game and the owners came out and talked with us about our day. Then they gave us the inside scoop on all the happenings and things to check out arround town.👍👍 This place is the 💣
MoreAfter hiking Castle Rock and a few other trails we were beat and starving, the margarita had just enough salt to get back some electrolytes. Very large portions but very delicious. The Philly Cheese Steak was so filling the steak inside was juicy and the bread had the perfect toast. The "hot wings" weren't very spicy but hot and extra crispy some of the best wings I've had. Great eats for decent prices and server was very helpful and attentive.
MoreDelicious food try the Reuben! The fish and chips were also perfectly made. Friendly staff.
MoreThe homemade chili was excellent. At dinner I had the cabbage rolls dinner. It was also excellent.
MoreSteak wasnt that good, but definitely edible.
Breakfast is amazing, usually not very crowded and the staff is super friendly. Great quality in food.
MoreThis place is a Mexican American place that has lots good food and even some German dishes. Friendly staff and delicious food. Portions are big
MoreWe loved it so much the food was delicious
One of my favorite breakfast restaurants. Lots of choices from pancakes the size of the plate, best french toast and scrambled egg dishes loads of selections mixed in them. All kinds of side and the hash browns are yummy. The even have vegan choices. The employees are very attentive. Great family place!
MoreWe came for breakfast and they have a great selection of American favorites as well as Mexican staples such as huevos rancheros. They offer bloody Mary's and Mimosas and have an extensive selection of tequilas. I will return to try the AsomBroso El Patino Silver Tequila. Warm and cozy atmosphere. The entrance is opposite the street with plenty of parking.
MoreAbsolutely loved it;) so did my kids ages 10&12. The bar area is cool too.
Great food, great service even when it’s pretty crowded. My margarita was huge and was only $10. Definitely would come back!
MoreBeen here over the years always nice. Food great, service great! Always a yummy place to stop.
MoreWell great food.. real warming and welcoming place.. the staff are wonderful people
MoreFood was hit & miss. Rock band was playing outside. Nice enjoyable place. Dinner options are roughly $15-25. Waitresses were friendly.
MoreYes what a place. Nice menu and fabulous food. Good service too. Got to hear Emmerson Lake and Palmer on the tunes. Will definitely return. Highly recommend Monte Cristo sandwich.
MoreOld Country Inn continues to be, overall, my favorite restaurant in Big Bear as Chef Tony always makes me the greatest salads. Husband loves the prime rib and BBQ ribs. Greatest chorizo burritos!Renovations have really opened up the restaurant. Friendly owners and staff. Will make you feel like family.
MoreGood food and service. Thank you.
Huge portions of delicious comfort food
Another spot that was recommeneded by the staff at the Black Forest Cabins. The plate sizes were big and fulfilling. My plate was a but cold, but overall I enjoyed the food and service. Since we came during the week, it was dead, so it was nice that our food came quick.
MoreGreat service and food. Cozy atmosphere
